  3. Hi Sveta,
You are amazing!! I just finished reading your book. I was so engrossed in it. What a timeless piece into your world growing up in Cold War Russia. I want to read more of your story! I wish to have a cup of coffee with you and hear more of your life in a world I’ve never gleaned into. Will you be writing a second book? I thoroughly loved it. I’m also really enjoying your blog. As an inspiring writer, you have inspired me – wow! What a way you have with words! Where can I write my review? Thank you for sharing yourself with the world. I adore you!

    • Dear Marilyn,

Your message was BY FAR my best present for Valentine’s/Anniversary Day (my American husband and I got married on Valentine’s because he believed that it was very romantic:)). You made my day! (Well, you sent it a day before but I didn’t read it till next day, and it took me another day to write you back — mostly because I couldn’t definitely answer your question.)

What can I say? The last four years took a definite toll on me. I was so upset with our political situation (which I hoped I had left behind) that I practically stopped writing and switched to photography. These days, I do a lot of photography, although I hope to go back to writing some day. When? I’m not sure — yet. In any case, if you’d like to write a review of my book, you can do on Amazon (it’s a very long URL: https://www.amazon.com/Education-Traitor-Memoir-Growing-Russia/dp/0692312285/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=education+of+a+traitor&qid=1613419407&s=books&sr=1-1; it maybe easier to just google the name of the book on Amazon).

P.S. I have questions for you, too. How did you find my book? Also, where do you live? I live in Columbia, MO, and if who know, maybe we can meet one day — when we all can travel, I mean.

      Thank you again!
      Yours,
      Svetlana

      • Dear Svetlana,

You made my day as well! What joy you brought me today that I would hear from you!! 🙂

I do hope you and your husband had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I send you my warmest Anniversary greetings to you and yours. :-]

I live in Columbia as well. I moved here from California in 2019. I borrowed the book from an Author friend of mine named Lori. She recommended your book as a good read since I was celebrating my birthday at her house on a mini retreat and looking to indulge in a book. It was going to be a writing retreat, but I ended up reading instead.

I understand politics can be very impacting on our every day lives. I, too, hope things get better. I must say you craft such beautiful photography! I enjoy your photos and blog very much. I understand that sometimes things happen and we have to put things to the side for now. Until then, I shall follow your blog!

I will leave my review on Amazon. Thank you for sharing it with me!

Until pen meets paper – or, until hand meets keyboard again…:-]

        Sincerely,
        Marilyn
